Exuma beach is world famous
A Exuma Bahamas beach has wonderful sunsets, sand, rocks and water, sea winds, beach volleyball, music and the occasional boardwalk loaded with amusements.
If you're interested in seclusion, however, keep in mind that many of the more crowded Exuma Bahamas beaches are popular for good reason. If you're looking for an active, social atmosphere with plenty of convenient services, try one Exuma Bahamas beach that is larger.
For those interested in pursuing specific activities learning more about the character of each beach can prove invaluable and our partner sites can provide you with useful information on each Exuma Bahamas beach. |

Exuma beach - where dreams become true vacations
It's a waterman's paradise, with secluded coves for picnicking or fishing.... Waste away days bone-fishing at world-renowned Exuma flats. Or plunge into 'most beautiful, impossible-to-describe water in the world.' . . . Exuma retains its slow pace, even though it's only 250 miles from Miami. Drop anchor, cast a line, or dance away the days. One of your best choices for beaches in the Exuma Islands is Tropic of Cancer Beach on Little Exuma, which is the longest beach on the island and has light sand and turquoise water. The imaginary line that defines the northern tropics supposedly runs right along the beach. The hotel beaches on Great Exuma have lots of personality and are open to the public. Shroud Cay has beautiful beaches interspersed with mangroves, and the beaches at the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park are home to local iguanas. Arguably the most beautiful yachting venue in the world, Exuma boasts pristine reefs, stunning beaches and excellent anchorages. Exuma consists of two main islands, Great Exuma & Little Exuma and about 365 little cays located in the center of the Bahamas Islands chain. The Bahamian Iguanas live there and the 176 square mile Exuma National Land & Sea Park is located there-famous for diving and yachting. The Harbour extends for about ten miles and includes some of the best soft white sand beaches in the world plus coral reefs perfect for snorkeling in depths of less than ten feet and water temperatures always above 75 degrees. Bahama Houseboats is based at George Town where you will obtain your provisions and sample a "Kalik" the local, very tasty beer. The Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park is home to several rare birds, exotic reptiles, colourful fish and breathtaking species of flora. Snorkellers will find the wide, shallow coastal region teeming with life and easy to explore, while divers can explore the huge coral reef or Exuma Sound which is filled with caves, blue holes and shipwrecks. Beaches, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, kayaking, sailing and shelling are just some of the activities. Holidays in Exuma can be enjoyed all year round. The winters tend to be drier with daily temperatures between 75° F and 85° F. Summers are between 80° F and 90° F. At the northernmost tip of The Exumas you'll find Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park. Accessible only by boat, the park stretches over 20 miles of land and cays and plays hosts to an underwater gallery of coral reefs, caves and all manner of marine life. The park is home to several species of rare birds and the protected Bahamian iguana, some as large as four feet in length. Little Exuma - Tropic Of Cancer Beach Many call this the most beautiful beach in the Exuma chain. Extraordinarily blue-green water bordered by an unblemished pale sand border. The longest beach on the island, it is probable that you will have it all to yourself. The imaginary line (Tropic of Cancer) that defines the northern extent of the tropics is said to run right along this beach. Shroud Cay Beautiful beaches among large expanses of mangrove. Sandy Cay Another sugar sand beach of tiny white granules. You'll find seclusion here, with lots of shells to enjoy, too. Stocking Island Beach White sugar sands plus very few visitors make this a great beach. It's in the Exumas Land and Sea Park.
